Coalition in Libya Falling Apart

We still have troops in Iraq and our military presence has escalated in Afghanistan.  Now, we are involved in an air war in Libya.

An allied coalition was formed to provide a "no fly over" zone in Libya to protect Libyan civilians from retaliation by the Libyan military.  However; this coalition is now falling apart in less than a week of activity.  Germany is pulling its equipment and men out altogether.  Italy will deny the use of its air bases unless the entire mission is placed under NATO control.  Russian premier Vladimir Putin provocatively likened the UN-backed mission to the medieval crusades.  The Arab League members are opposed to any aerial bombing.  Turkey insists the West is involved  only for wealth saying, "Nato should go in with the recognition and acknowledgement that Libya belongs to the Libyans, not for the distribution of its underground resources and wealth"

All the allies have resorted to backstabbing and petty infighting over mission control going to the UN or to NATO or even if sufficient force hasn't already been used.  And where is our President?  Touring South America.  At a time when strong leadership is needed, he is conspicuously absent.  American lives are at risk and our President has apparently refused involvement at his level.

If this coalition was critical enough to require American military involvement and lives to be placed in jeopardy, then our President needs to get directly involved and exercise some strong leadership skills and attempt to pull this coalition together.  If maintaining the coalition isn't important enough to warrant his attention then he needs to pull our military and our support.
